Traditional Chinese Medicine

Combining millennia-old methods with cutting-edge techniques, Acupuncture Plus’ application of Traditional Chinese Medicine restores balance and improves overall health.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a medical system based on more than 5,000 years of established, documented healing methods. It is a comprehensive wellness program designed to treat patients holistically, addressing root causes of ailments to prevent sickness and injury, and to promote overall health. It treats each person as a complete entity, rather than disconnected pieces, so treatments often affect your total well-being in addition to addressing specific issues. As a result, TCM seeks to engender fundamental healing so the problem does not recur.

TCM takes into account your body’s natural energy flow, and how external or internal influences may be affecting that flow of energy. By freeing the flow of energy and regulating your body’s glandular system, TCM helps your body function optimally.

At Acupuncture Plus, Caro LeCroy treats every patient as an individual, applying a customized menu of treatments based on your particular needs, whether you’re looking to relieve pain, improve fertility, offset a hormonal imbalance, or simply preserve general health.

Acupuncture

Central to Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is a Chinese medical science that dates back more than 2,500 years. Used to treat everything from pain to allergies, acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles just under the skin at specific “acupoints.” These acupoints stimulate energy pathways, or meridians, that run through the body. When stimulated properly these meridians trigger your body’s energy for better functioning.

Think of it like traffic flowing from city to city on a transportation grid. Your organs are the cities, and your body’s natural circulatory pathways are the highways. When there’s a traffic jam on one of the highways, the system backs up. Certain cities don’t receive the normal flow of traffic, and their functioning is compromised. It’s a similar concept within your body. When there is a blockage in one of your circulatory pathways, certain organs are compromised, which may lead to a variety of outward symptoms, from pain to anxiety to sleep disorders. By removing the blockage and restoring the natural flow of traffic, normal functioning can be restored.

At Acupuncture Plus, Carol LeCroy applies more than 16 years of experience in a variety of acupuncture modalities, including ear acupuncture, Japanese-style acupuncture and other variations of the traditional science.

Modern Nutritional Supplements and Herbal Medicines

Achieving true wellness is a multidimensional process. TCM holds that you can’t just treat an injury or illness; you need to treat the whole person. This means a combination of physical treatments with a carefully selected course of nutritional supplements and herbal medicines. Nutritional and herbal therapy, as applied by Acupuncture Plus, involves special combinations of supplements and herbs designed for each patient’s specific issues. Proper administration of these formulas strengthens and supports the organ system while improving immunity and helping to re-balance the body.

Carol LeCroy has more than a decade and a half of experience providing herbal therapy for a wide range of conditions. Her expertise in the medicines and supplements stems from extensive research, as well as diligent quality control of the substances. She also brings substantial experience merging functional and herbal medicines for optimum results. Carol maintains an extensive in-office pharmacy with vitamins, minerals, herbal medicines, and concentrated, pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements. She maintains records of patient feedback and carefully documents the effectiveness of the treatments so that she may fine tune her treatments for everything from migraines to menopausal symptoms.
